Purposes of money
Have your preschool kids discuss about the uses of money. What we can do with money? Buy food, toys, clothing, etc. Write a list of things that we can do with money.

1. Money lesson plan - count pennies
   Print out free preschool level money coin counting worksheets and ask your preschool count how many pennies are there. Write down money value. Learn penny back and front.

2. Money lesson plan - search for treasure
   A play game for preschoolers to learn more about money coins value and names. Hide some coins under books, among toys, or mix real coins with some play coins. Have your preschool kids search around and find the real money. Ask them to tell what coins they found.

3. Money lesson plan - sort money
   Ask your preschoolers sort money by size from smallest to largest, or by value from largest to smallest. You can use play money or real money for this lesson. Excellent cut and paste activities for preschool kids to practice fine motor skills too.

4. Money lesson plan - toys shop
   Preschool or day care teachers can collect some toys in advance. Get some real coins or play money. Ask you preschoolers to shop around and select one toy they like, pay you for that toy. This game will teach the preschool kids more about using money to buy things.

6. Money lesson plan - Counting Money with Bills
   Print out bills money picture, show your students the pictures, teach your preschoolers the front and back of $1 bill, $5 bill, $10 bill, and $20 bill. Teach them how to recognize bills.

   • Dime:on the front of the penny is the picture of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
   • Quarter:on the front of the penny is the picture of George Washington . On the back of the penny is a picture of bald eagle.

8. Money lesson plan - Money around the world
   Teachers can collect some foreigh coins and bills, teach children about different moneies used in different countries around the world. And introduce basic currency exchange ideas.
