Fun facts about sharks for kids.

• Sharks have a different shaped tooth.A shark always has a row of smaller teeth developing behind its front teeth. A shark may grow over 20,000 teeth in its whole lifetime. The whale shark is the largest fish species and largest shark species.The whale shark is not a kind of whale.
• Almost all of sharks are meat eaters. They eat fish,turtles, dolphins and seals.
• Some huge sharks like the whale sharks,basking shark, and the megamouth sharks are usually harmless. They eat plankton and tiny creatures living underwater.
• The most dangerous sharks are the Great White shark, the Tiger shark, the Hammerhead shark, and the Bull shark. They can attack and kill people.
• Sharks do not bone in their bodies. They have a skeleton made up of cartilage.
• Sharks have good hearing. They can hear fishes as far as 500 metres away.
• great white is warm-blooded while other sharks are cold-blooded.The great white shark needs to eat a lot of meat in order to keep its body temperature.
• Sharks are very sensitive to the smell of blood. They can smell one drop of blood in the water.

• Sharks lay eggs to have babies or give birth to babies. They can have 1 or up to 100 babies at one time. Shark babies are born ready to take care of themselves.
